The night of April 23, 2025, the Quevedo concert at the Palacio de los Deportes trended not only for the show’s energy, but also for an accident that exposed a recurring issue in large-scale events: the lack of structural safety. Three people fell from a bleacher to the venue’s floor, allegedly due to an installation error. Videos of the moment, shared by users on social media like @Alan161206 and @aldahir0767, show the chaos in real time while the Spanish artist remained on stage.
Context: In certain sections of the venue (B and C), metallic bleachers are added to increase capacity. During the final part of Quevedo’s concert, everyone started jumping and a section collapsed. There were only injuries, but poor practices persist…

Security personnel immediately responded to assist the injured fans. *According to the website Sopitas, OCESA has issued a statement regarding the incident:
“Regarding the incident that occurred at the Quevedo concert, we report that three people sustained non-serious injuries.
In accordance with our protocols, the individuals were promptly assisted by the venue’s medical and security personnel, and were transported to a hospital, where they received care and were discharged during the early hours of the morning, accompanied by their families.
We reaffirm our commitment to the safety of all attendees, staff, and artists.”
Attendee testimonies like that of @RoSaalazar reflect the seriousness of the event: “A bleacher gave way and three people fell… they landed in the row right in front of me, I hope they’re okay.” Another user, @uhhmichavo, recounted: “Near the end of the concert everyone started jumping and a section collapsed… there were only injuries, but the poor practices remain.”

This new accident at a CDMX concert comes just weeks after the tragedy at the AXE Ceremonia 2025 Festival, where two photojournalists died after a metal structure collapsed in Parque Bicentenario. CDMX’s Attorney General’s Office is already investigating four companies involved in the structure’s installation. The parallel between the two cases is alarming: popular events, temporary structures, serious oversights… and devastating consequences.
It’s not an isolated case. In recent years, similar incidents have occurred: the collapse of a bleacher at a Yuridia concert in Nuevo Vallarta that left dozens injured; the bleacher collapse at a rodeo in San Antonio, Texas, with 12 injuries; and the 2021 Mexican Grand Prix, where an incomplete bleacher caused chaos and closures by Civil Protection. Each case reflects a pattern of negligence and lack of clear protocols in the setup of public event structures.
The excitement of seeing your favorite artist should not put your physical safety at risk. Production companies, organizers, venues, and authorities must understand that safety at mass events is not a luxury—it’s a legal and moral responsibility. Moreover, consumers are paying high ticket prices. When it comes to people’s safety and lives, there must be stricter Civil Protection protocols, independent audits, updated regulations, constant monitoring, ZERO CORRUPTION, and above all, consequences for those who fail to comply. Lives and attendee safety are on the line!
How many more injuries will it take before real action is taken? How many more lives must be lost due to oversights and poor practices? No more excuses. It’s urgent to professionalize safety standards at concerts, festivals, and high-impact events. Because when a bleacher collapses, it’s not just a structure that falls: it’s the collapse of the trust of an audience that just wants to celebrate music, not survive it. But what do you think?
