With less than a year to go before the start of the FIFA World Cup 2026, Buchanan’s Blended Scotch Whisky, the official whisky in North America for the tournament, has unleashed a celebration that resonates as loudly as a championship goal. It’s called the Buchamión, a mobile experience of music, pride, and community, bringing the soul of Latin fútbol to the streets of New York—and soon, many other cities.
The call of a new fútbol era
Inspired by the iconic Latin American pregoneros—neighborhood trucks that announce products loudly, “se compran colchones, refrigeradores, estufas…”—the Buchamión is a 27-foot-long rolling cultural platform, equipped with 16 speakers and decorated with vibrant artwork designed by Kids of Immigrants. This urban intervention transforms entire blocks into unapologetically Latin celebrations, where fútbol passion blends with cultural identity.
At the heart of the Buchamión is a custom song, “Nos Vamos al Mundial“, recorded by the legendary voice of fútbol: Andrés Cantor. With his classic “¡GOOOOOOOOL!” remastered over Latin rhythms, the track acts as a battle cry and homage to the emotion of qualifying for a World Cup.
“For me, fútbol is emotion, passion, and part of my Argentine identity. This collaboration is a way to share that energy with all the fans,” said Cantor.
A journey of excitement that unites generations
On July 13, the Buchamión toured Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn, stopping at key locations like Flushing Meadows Park, El Basurero, and BK Backyard Bar. With surprise appearances from Cantor, giveaways, exclusive merch, and an atmosphere filled with Latin beats, the experience was as emotional as it was unforgettable. Twelve lucky fans won World Cup tickets by competing to see who could hold the narrator’s iconic “goooooool” the longest.
The day concluded with a spectacular party headlined by Colombian DJ DJ Pope, who transformed the Buchamión into a rolling stage of music, cocktails, and shared culture.

Music, dance, and World Cup tickets
Buchanan’s is also launching a dance contest inviting fans 25 and older to show off their best goal celebration. Participants can upload their video at www.spiritspromos.com/buchanans/dance-contest to win tickets to the group stage of the 2026 World Cup and a $6,500 USD gift card. The contest will be open until February 28, 2026.
“We want people to live fútbol with rhythm, energy, and Buchanan’s style. We’re celebrating the Latin way of feeling and living this sport,” said Linda Lagos-Morales, Brand Director for Buchanan’s Scotch Whisky.
The journey is just beginning
The Buchamión will cross borders in the coming months, traveling to Mexico City and then returning to the United States to appear in five host cities of the 2026 World Cup: Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, and Chicago.
With this action, Buchanan’s not only solidifies its position as the World Cup whisky in North America, but also reaffirms that Latin fútbol is celebrated with voice, rhythm, and heart.
