As the year winds down, YouTube introduces YouTube Recap — a personalized, end‑of‑year summary that shows what you’ve watched in 2025. The feature is live now and offers a fun way to revisit your favorite videos, channels and viewing habits.
✅ What is YouTube Recap?
Compiles your watch history into up to 12 interactive “cards” showcasing your top channels, frequently watched topics, and how your viewing habits evolved over the year. For users who regularly listen to music or podcasts on YouTube, it can also surface top artists and songs — similarly to a “wrapped” for video + music content.
Each Recap includes a “viewer personality” label based on your content preferences — categories like “Skill Builder,” “Wonder Seeker,” or “Sunshiner.” This fun “personality badge” gives a playful summary of your viewing profile in 2025.
📲 How to access your Recap
- Open the YouTube app (or go on desktop) and sign in.
- On mobile: go to the “You” tab. If the recap is available for you, a banner saying “Your Recap is here” should appear under your profile.
- On desktop: you can also visit youtube.com/Recap directly.
If you don’t see it yet, don’t panic — Recap is rolling out globally and the timing may vary depending on region or account type.
💡 Requirements and limitations
YouTube notes a few conditions for Recap eligibility:
- You must have an active YouTube account (not a supervised/child account).
- Your watch history must be enabled and maintained throughout the year. If you paused history or have automatic deletion of history, your Recap may be incomplete or unavailable.
- Recap won’t include content from YouTube TV or certain restricted channels.
🎬 What you get in Recap
- A visual summary of your year: top channels, trending interests, favorite genres or topics.
- A personality‑type label summarizing what kind of viewer you were (e.g. “Skill Builder,” “Wonder Seeker,” “Sunshiner,” etc.)
- If applicable, your top music artists and songs — especially if you use YouTube Music regularly.
- A shareable and downloadable recap — easy to post on social media to compare with friends or just reflect on your year.
